Focus on the culture of the practice. With healthcare focus on more patient-centered and holistic care, developing partnerships with families and collaborating with other health care teams, the transformational leadership style approach works better in this modern era of healthcare delivery. Transformational leaders demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior which as nurses we do as we are believed in always doing the right thing. Transformational leaders show confidence and respect in their subordinates and have the ability to influence their subordinate's behavior in such a way that results in more work fulfillment and positive organizational outcomes (Boamah et al., 2017). As a transformational leader I would foster healthy and open communication among healthcare teams and to also foster a healthy work environment. Nurses and fellow healthcare teams must also be accountable for personal and professional growth when it comes to improving communication skills. We all need to hold ourselves accountable in displaying mutual respect, having emotional intelligence and professionalism especially when caring for our patients. References
