The RWJF Committee Initiative and the IOM Report The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the IOM joined in a partnership in 2008.This partnership was intended to help assess and respond to the need to transform the nursing profession (IOM, 2011). It is no secret that the nursing profession faces many challenges and the RWJF and IOM saw a need to make a change. They established a two-year initiative on the Future of Nursing (IOM, 2011). This initiative would contain changes in public and institutional policies at a national, state, and local level (IOM, 2011). They had a specific vision and that was to redevelop the health care setup in an attempt to focus on the critical healthcare challenges in the United States (Hassmiller & Reinhard, 2019). Their reports focused on primary care and prevention as the focus to enhance the healthcare system. The RWJF and IOM knew that most healthcare systems aspects must go through efficient changes of the nursing profession
