Introduction
A nurse typically places much emphasis on dedicating their lives to improving others’ physical and emotional well-being. Most importantly, this care tends to have positive, as well as negative impacts, on their wellness. In essence, health facilities and individual nurses have and continue to report staff shortages, challenging governmental regulations, and the emergence of new, complex responsibilities and roles. The identified issues play a leading role in causing role strain or stress and nurse burnout, which, in turn, undermine delivery of timely and quality patient care. The problems in question further result in ethical and legal issues, which interfere with comprehensive health care delivery. In other words, workplace stress and burnout adversely impact individual nurses, especially when it comes to their personal accomplishment since it undermines their role sufficiency and understanding of roles. In response to these challenges, key players should invest in the identification and implementation of appropriate measures tasked with the responsibility of addressing nurse burnout, which include hiring more nurse and investing in nurse education.
