Practicum Experience Plan Assignment Paper
When beginning this clinical placement, it is critical for a prospective nurse practitioner to recognize that the interaction between the patient and the practitioner is unlike any other interaction that has ever been established. Nurses devote the most time with patients compared to any other medical professional in a clinical environment. The registered nurse job requires us to recognize that we not only exhibit all of the attributes associated with a nurse, but we simultaneously bear the duty of examining, diagnosing, and administering the most suitable therapy for the client and also providing them with care in a cost-efficient manner (Kooienga & Wilkinson, 2016). Nursing professionals are in a unique position to provide high-quality care to all clients due to the duration of time they routinely devote to them (Urbanowicz, 2019). This paper seeks to delve into how the encounters I have had during my practicum can aid me in developing my skills and advancing into an advanced nurse practitioner Practicum Experience Plan Assignment Paper.
My goals and objectives:
As a future family nurse practitioner, my aim throughout this 10-week practicum is to broaden my skills and knowledge in order to improve my career path. According to research, when meaningful relationships are prevalent, personal development is facilitated. On the other hand, high-tension interactions between patient and nurse might derail the recovery process (McCaffrey & Reinoso, 2017). As I make the next step from nurse to a registered nurse practitioner, one of my primary goals is to gain more self-assurance halfway into the practicum. I am optimistic that by the time I reach the midway point of this program, I will feel more at ease in my ability to examine and diagnose people fully. The eventual aim of this practicum is for me to feel competent in addressing pathological conditions, potential treatments, and management techniques with just minimum assistance. Having set this goal for me, I’m guardedly optimistic that as I progress through this next phase and into subsequent practicum placements, I’ll gain greater self-assurance and competence as an APRN.
