Recommend at least two strategies that can be implemented to bolster successful practices revealed in your Work Environment

The first strategy that can bolster successful practices in my work environment is
implementing a comprehensive mentoring program for all employees. This is a type of employee
training and development whereby junior employees work and learn from senior employees
regarding their future job roles and responsibilities. Mentoring is suitable since it will prepare
and build the potential of nurses to undertake more challenging responsibilities within the
nursing facility. Mentorship will allow the nurse to acquire practical skills, gain confidence, and
appreciate the importance of diversity in the workplace (Broome & Marshall, 2021). In addition,
mentoring is useful in enabling the subordinate staff to acknowledge the adverse effects of
incivility to their job roles and entire company.
The second strategy that will bolster professional practice is implementation of shared
governance, joint decision-making, and policy development, review, and revision. The strategy
allows nurses to air their ideas regarding the current incivility and its effects to the success of the
organization. The involvement of employees in policy development enables them feel

appreciated and valued by the management and encourage them to exert more efforts in their job
roles. The strategy supports job accountability and responsibility thus contributing to high
performance (Broome & Marshall, 2021). For instance, the nurses feel less valued than doctors
and hesitate to notify doctors in event of changes in patient condition. In this regard, involving
all staff in decision making and policy development will assist in creating a positive work culture
that is based on mutual respect and trust.

Conclusion

All nursing professionals are required to foster civility and adhere to the professional
code of conduct in their practice and interaction with other professionals at the workplace. The
nurse should limit his or her practice to his or her acquired competence. A healthy and safe
working environment entails respect and treatment of staff with dignity, appreciation of their
work performance, and celebration of their work achievements. In this case, a nursing facility
should implement cultural values and beliefs that foster diversity, open communication, cordial
relations, and shared decision-making. It is important to promote teamwork and address
employee wellness needs. In this case, incivility contributes to negative outcomes such low job
satisfaction, high risk of medical errors, and decline in overall organizational productivity.
