Professional Experience Plan
The professional practicum experience is linked with a number of goals, all of which contribute to its overall efficacy and efficiency. The goals are determined by the function that healthcare professionals will perform as well as the kind of experience that they will need to get. The purpose of this plan was to assess the integration of nurses into healthcare governance and administration, as well as their role in doing so. The management of healthcare facilities is in charge of ensuring that everything runs well on a day-to-day basis. It is just the administrative members of the institution that make up the team; clinicians are not considered to be part of the unit (Barratt, 2018). The respective objectives have been developed as a result of my self-assessment as a nurse and my projection of my potential role in the administrative and operational team. They will be critical in making sure that I strengthen my professional clinical skills, elaborate on the subject of healthcare, and improve my skill sets in terms of my job responsibilities.
One of the primary objectives of the PEP is to put newly acquired skills to use in the application of successful nursing principles and practical specialization, while also guaranteeing that substantial improvements in health are made available to the general public. Every day, there are new illnesses and infections to contend with. A current example is the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had a major impact on the whole global population (González-Pando et al., 2021). These situations are never anticipated, and as a result, there are a scarcity of healthcare professionals who are particularly educated to manage such diseases. In such a scenario, general infections managers and nurses should put their newly acquired expertise to use to guarantee that they are in the best possible position to prevent the illness from spreading. It is in accordance with this specific aim that such services are made available. I attempted to bring the idea to fruition by guaranteeing the greatest possible level of collaboration with the institution’s leadership and administrative management. During this period, I will consider carefully the theories and ideas of leadership, and the concepts that apply to the direction of the organization. The successful achievement of the goal will guarantee effective service delivery and, as a result, will have a beneficial influence on the health condition of the population. Working with a variety of administrative departments will provide me with valuable experience that I may use to my medical research career.
The second PEP objective is to enhance learning by providing an atmosphere that is favorable and productive for it to take place. In order to enhance the likelihood of success in attaining the goal, I want to use a variety of tactics in my efforts. The first approach is to get a knowledge of the current cultural differences amongst leaders and executives, as well as how these differences effectively support or have an effect on their ability to provide service. Since nursing students come from a wide range of backgrounds, problems of diversity will be considered equally. Different learning styles also have an impact on the quality of nurses produced; thus, taking this into mind will guarantee that all of their requirements have been taken into consideration, therefore improving their chances of being successful.
Including nurses into the administration of various divisions in the organization was my other PPEP objective, according to the program’s mission statement. By working together with different departments, we can guarantee that nursing students and certified nurses who want to take up leadership roles have a broad range of management experience. The strong working connection between the two parties will contribute to the general performance of the healthcare facility (González-Pando et al., 2021).
The other objective is to assess the effectiveness of the leadership unit and its influence on organizational administration. Whenever it comes to successful leadership in a company, the field of health administration plays a critical part in this (González-Pando et al., 2021). Through the regulation and maintenance of the quality and lawful administration of organizations, this is accomplished. The use of appropriate assessment methods such as psychomotor categories, which will help to give the required information, will be included into the goal.
