Work Environment Assessment
Introduction
Civility serves as the cornerstone which hinges on attainment of positive and healthy
work environment for nursing professionals and the top m leadership of health oriented
organizations. There are critical tenets of civility in the health based work environment necessary
for satisfying patient needs. For example, according to Clapper (2018) organizations which
uphold good manners, formal politeness, practicing agility and awareness of stakeholder rights,
needs, emotions and concerns attain better outcomes. On the other hand, health based institutions
where incivility is rife tend to attain shortcomings in their outcomes. The consequences of
incivility in the workplace relate to elevated medical costs, lack of sufficient care for patients,
and overall working conditions unfathomable for nurses. Research shows that in order to boost
output of nurses and other medical professionals, provision of healthy work environments is
paramount to achieve those outcomes (Clapper, 2018). Thus, with a better healthy environment,
less moral distress, adequate staffing and retention alongside diminished chances of harassment
aids in provision of more compassionate care by health professionals.
