NURS FPX 4030 Assessment 1 Locating Credible Databases and Research

    •

As a nurse with a baccalaureate degree, supervising clinical staff, effective communication, and collaboration are crucial when finding evidence to apply in nursing practice scenarios such as Cholecystitis. To provide evidence-based practice (EBP), we use trustworthy databases and research articles such as Cochrane Library, CINAHL, and PubMed. When discussing this with the clinical staff, we should focus on integrating the best available evidence to provide the best possible care for Cholecystitis patients. Collaboration is key to ensuring that everyone in the team is involved in the search process, promoting a shared understanding of the latest research findings and their implications for patient care (Garritty et al., 2021). By fostering a continuous learning and knowledge exchange culture, we empower our team to provide high-quality care based on evidence-based principles, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes.

Communication Strategies to Encourage Diagnosis-Based Research

The strategies for effective communication are crucial in encouraging nurses to engage in research and practice based on diagnosis. A study on strategic communication interventions found that fostering awareness and interest in research and development (R&D) among nurses can significantly bridge the gap between research and practice (Manca, 2020). This approach has been proven to increase nurses’ interest in R&D, thereby promoting the adoption of innovative thinking and evidence-based practice in healthcare settings.

To facilitate nurses to conduct diagnosis-based research, especially on conditions such as cholecystitis, communication strategies that consider individual personality types can be highly effective. Knowing and utilizing various personality types, as described in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), can improve communication among healthcare teams and professionals. This technique enhances nurses’ ability to interact with their colleagues and communicate effectively with their patients, which is essential for diagnosis-oriented research (Cazeau, 2021).

Nurses are crucial in achieving healthcare objectives by adhering to the WHO’s Global Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery 2021-2025. This involves incorporating evidence-based practices and policy priorities into nursing and midwifery and promoting research activities. By aligning with these guidelines, nurses can make meaningful contributions toward improving healthcare outcomes. By employing personality insights for personalized communication and adhering to strategic guidelines, nurses can effectively engage in research, even in specialized areas like cholecystitis, leading to better healthcare outcomes
