Introduction

As a healthcare provider, one of the roles that one plays is advocating for change in healthcare practices. The changes that are put in place may need enactment of policies and being a healthcare provider one is supposed to consider the use of these policies in the generation of the right policy changes for improvement in the health of patients. This paper focuses on the advocacy process whereby one takes part as a nurse in proposing the policy changes as well as supporting the need for use of healthcare policies to bring in changes in the process of care. Description The Mobile Health Record Act of 2019was introduced in 2019 and was sponsored by Susan Brook who is the house representative from the 5th congressional committee. Other than Brook the other person who sponsored the bill was Yvettte Clarke of the 9th district in the state of New York.  In addition, Levine Mike, Schweikert David, and Gott from California, Arizona, and Jersey were co-sponsors. The enactment of this bill will require that the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services put in place measures that allow for the persons who are enrolled in Medicare to have a link of their data to ensure that there is the use of a mobile application. The bill calls for the Medicare enrollees to get access to information with the use of a mobile health record with the use of an application of their choosing. The CMS I supposed to ensure that there is the ease in getting access to this information as provided for in the mobile app program referred to as the Blue Button 2.0 program.
