HPI: The scenario is that of a 40-year-old woman and her daughter who is 23 years old. The daughter comes with the complaint of pain and that she could wish for her mother to have peace and reduce the expectations and ensure that there is an acceptance of many things including the way that she is living her life. She points out that although she has a sense of her own her mother is holding her from doing much and that she does not like spending time with her mother. She claims to be only and gets stressed when she gets lonely. She does not like the house of her mother and has two dogs which she does not like either. The other thing she does not like about her mother is the hair.

The mother and daughter are of Iranian origin and she is at the clinic for the examination of the complex family dynamics about her and her five children. At the moment she has only come to the clinic with her 23-year-old daughter. Her daughter has presented various issues regarding her poor relationship with her mother and the other siblings. The mother has trauma that she is struggling with at the moment due to the issue of abuse that she faced from her husband. She is faced with a challenge in the adjustment to the norms of the American culture and way of living. From the information provided by the mother, she had an issue of one of her daughters facing rape and being abused by their father and this has left them to be unable to relate in the right way with the members of the family. The family has therefore not been able to have a good relationship with each other. There has been an issue as well in that being Iranians they have been accused by the mother of being Americanized.
