Healthcare policy impacts the advanced practice profession because nurses and nurse practitioners must be responsible and professional. They need to have the capacity to influence the healthcare delivery systems. One of the ethical values of nursing is justice. Ethics in nursing involves justice and ensures that all individuals receive equal treatment regardless of race, age, gender, ethnicity, or social status. Healthcare policy sets the standards of care for the advanced practice nurse profession to ensure that quality of care is met. Policies exist to define the appropriate care and ensure that standards for that level of care are met (Chike-Harris et al., 2021)
