Part II: Introduction

Arthurs et al. (2018) opine that a culture of excellence in a healthcare organization is important because it helps in the promotion of the best outcomes for patients and helps in the promotion of a good collaboration among the healthcare providers. Thus, there is a need for enhancement of the quality of care and implementation of safety improvement standards. This is in line with the leadership as well as the factors such as the environment that one is working in. As such, there should be a set up of a mission, vision, and values that are to be adhered to in an organization. These should guide the organization in carrying out its activities. This paper aims to discuss the need for the creation and development of a culture of excellence in the healthcare organization.

 Part II: Culture of Excellence

Concept of a culture of excellence

Culture of excellence is of importance because it helps in the promotion of positive influence on nursing activities as well as patient outcomes. The culture of excellence is of importance in that it allows for the improvement of the safety practice and that allows for the attainment of top-quality care for patients. Rezaei et al. (2018) ascribe that the culture of excellence will be fundamental in that it allows for the recognition of the efforts that are put in place by nurses for improvement of the kind of environment that is created. Owing to the study by Wirtz (2019), it is argued that a culture of excellence helps in drawing patients to seek healthcare services from the healthcare organization. This is instrumental in turn because it allows for the improvement of the profitability in the healthcare organization which helps in the enhancement of the chances of success in the healthcare organization
