2 Leading a Culture of Excellence Organizations must focus on cultivating excellence within their teams.By improving the foundational structure and processes, they can begin on the path to excellence and orchestrate positive outcomes within the organization (Medeiros, 2020). An organization's culture is guided by its mission, vision and values. A clear and simple mission statement is well-known and carried outby every employee within the organization. It defines who the organization is, their purpose, and their legacy. The vision statement is a reflection of where the organization is striving to be in twenty years. Values motivate and inspire excellence and shape employees actions to achieve the organization's goals and vision (Sritoomma, 2020). This paper will further explain a culture of excellence, an overview of the mission, vision and values of Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, and the leadership strategies used by nurse executives to promote a culture of excellence and their reflection of the Chamberlain Care Model. Culture of Excellence In order to seek a culture of excellence an organization must incorporate the four major elements of delivering and promising quality healthcare, being more than adequate at their job, providing a personal touch to patient care and properly resolving problems (Sritoomma, 2020). The fundamental starting point to cultivating a culture of excellence is amongst clinical staff who will have the greatest impact on patients and their outcomes. Organizations must share with these team members pertinent information because they can make necessary improvements leading to the desired outcomes. Sharing this information gives the staff the ability to adjust how they're doing and engages them in the decision-making process. Evidence-based practice (EBP) is another foundational strategy that reflects a culture of excellence.
