Discussion
The Viking culture had a significant influence on the art, science, commerce, and market of the peoples they conquered throughout Europe (Curry, 2020). The Viking invasion of Europe influenced civilization culturally, religiously, morally, militarily, and socially. In Europe, the Vikings left both pessimistic and optimistic memories.
To begin on the positive, their desire to effectively utilize their talents improved tool development in society. The Vikings were skilled at forging tools, and as a result, knives, spears, lances, and other shields were made (Curry, 2020). They were able to transport their goods rapidly and easily using technologies because they had the skills and expertise of navigation that assisted them in sailing around the ocean. They used the weapons as a means of protection and to help in raids on other groups.
The drawback is that the Vikings’ impact on European history was fueled by their descendants’ appetite for plunder and invasion. Both free Norse men were expected to have firearms and were allowed to carry them everywhere they went (Curry, 2020). The Vikings’ expansion resulted in looting and pillaging, which was accompanied by significant societal influences and advances in both directions. Christians buried their corpses with grave goods, while Pagans did not.
