For a family member, I would recommend that they turn to a family doctor to diagnose for opioid addiction and start medication immediately. Additionally, I would recommend that they consider joining a regional support group that offers guidance and counseling about opioid addiction. The guidance and counseling provided would change the individual’s attitude regarding opioid use, even if not immediately.
