Identify and describe any risks and consider what further information you would need to gain a full understanding of the child’s health. Think about how you could sensitively gather this information.

The risk of depression. To gain full information on this, a holistic assessment, more so a mental assessment, is done. Mental disorder is more likely to be noted in the 12-year-old girl being bullied at school. To gather this information, the parents will be the primary sources of data. Apart from the parents, asking the 12-year-old girl will give more insight into her mental state.

Taking into account the parents’ and caregivers’ potential sensitivities, list at least three specific questions you would ask about the child to gather more information.

The specific questions that can be asked to gain more information include

Which food do you give your child in the morning, during lunch hours, and during dinner?

How do you handle the case of bullying at school?

Have you noticed any changes in your child’s eating behavior lately?

What explanation do you give your child for being underweight?

Provide at least two strategies you could employ to encourage the parents or caregivers to be proactive about their child’s health and weight.

Providing awareness to the parents and caregivers on the importance of physical activities. This includes exercises to control any weight gain. According to physical therapists, physical exercises also help to manage chronic conditions such as hypertension. Exercise prompts the body to break down fatty acids that could be causing occlusion. It also helps to manage osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is the decrease in bone density because of the reduced deposition of calcium and phosphate. Physical exercises prompt the osteoblasts to trigger the production of more calcium and phosphates. When these two are deposited, bone density is increased.

Caregivers and parents should be encouraged to advocate for healthy habits in their families. These include eating foods with the required nutritional value. A balanced diet that has all the supplements of minerals, proteins, and calories should be encouraged. This helps to compensate for the body’s inability to form the required minerals, calories, and proteins.
