During the development of the care plan, the LOWA model was applied. Using this model, the underlying patient’s problem was first identified as cystic fibrosis. The condition was already advanced, causing a lot of pain on the young Caitlynn. The healthcare providers immediately settled for medication interventions. These conditions had subjected the patient to severe suffering. The next step was care prioritization, where the most urgent needs of the patients were first addressed. During care prioritization process, Dr. Copeland realized that the parents to the young Caitlynn were living far away from the hospitals. The most immediate thing was therefore to develop effective communication strategy . Through this, Dr. Copeland recommended remote monitoring after the parents showed willingness and competence in using video conferencing technology. Dr. Copeland also recommended that Caitlynn be transferred to the nearest community respiratory health centre for close omitting. More than anything, the patient needed to be emotionally stable and resume her activities as she used to do. This was made possible through the therapy sessions.
