Introduction

As a healthcare provider, one must make use of the assessment tools that they understand to avoid any errors or any ethical issues being experienced. Healthcare providers are expected to ensure that the quality of care for patients is not affected by any factor such as the lack of skills. It is as well necessary that in the process of provision of care for patients one should be truthful to avoid risking the health of patients. This is because when one is not open on the skills and the knowledge that they have, they may end up causing dissatisfaction of patients. This paper helps in the assessment of the ethical consideration in the assessment of patients based on the ethical missteps case study.

Ethical missteps demonstrated by the counselor

Don has demonstrated various ethical missteps one of which is the failure to be truthful to the supervisor on the knowledge that he has. Although he does not have an understanding of how to apply the method because he did not learn in school, he has not sought any help from the supervisor. The other ethical misstep is that the client leaves the patient to fill the form alone although Mohammed is a patient of Indian descent. 

The client as well leaves the patient to go and fill in the information at home. The other concern is that even after realizing that the tool is not meant for persons who are not US-born persons and English-speaking individuals the client continued to use the data collected.
