Section 3. How personal worldview and nursing theory assist development of future practice
My personal worldview and nursing theory are instrumental in helping me to develop my future practice. My personal worldview is that the Bible is a good guide for leading a meaningful life. The theory best aligned with my worldview is Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring. The two (personal worldview and theory) have helped me to have clear professional goals through being open to the divinity of God and the need to serve others. I am aware that human beings are a unique existence with the capacity for higher thought.Worldview and Nursing Process Personal Statement. This makes every human being unique. This helps in emphasizing the centrality of care as a core principle in the delivery of nursing services. This approach is important for using and leveraging nursing care to make meaningful contributions to the environment and bring about sustainable change (Lee, Palmieri & Watson, 2016). For instance, it helps in developing the mentality that all patients, irrespective of demographic differences such as social class and financial power, should receive meaningful care based on rational and ethical practices. Worldview and Nursing Process Personal Statement. This helps in highlighting the responsibility of professional nurses to affirm and safeguard humanity by unveiling feelings, attitudes and thoughts that allow human beings to have authentic relationships. Increasing nursing knowledge, skills and competencies helps in achieving these objectives by improving the capacity for supporting patients to self-heal even as they are actively engaged through the authentic and intentional presence of nurses that optimizes comprehensive healing (Alligood&Tomey, 2013).Worldview and Nursing Process Personal Statement.
