Introduction

A family must anticipate and take into consideration the cost of healthcare. This is not the case however due to various factors. There has been a great change in the process of delivery of patient care with changes being put in place for the use of ambulatory services rather than the use of inpatient services. The process of seeking mental healthcare services has been affected by many factors as discussed in this paper. 

 

Cantor and Thorpe (2018) opine that many factors may impede the advancement one of which is the issue of confusion among the people. The process of configuration of the services to ensure that the needs of patients are met and that there is the promotion of independence has become complex and confusing to the people living in the community. There are various settings that long-term care can be provided including a home setting in the community or the hospital setting. 

The other issue that impeded planning is the issue of denial. As a society. There are denials or the issue of people tending to push the progression of life aside. The denial among people on the death of any poor health standard in the future could be a concern as it could lead to people on being able to make the right decisions. Dixon, Karagiannidou, and Knapp (2018) depict that the issue of cost-effectiveness impedes planning. This may push the members of the community in a way that there could be an improvement in the elderly setting….
