, Healthcare policy impacts APRNs in many ways. Health policies are influenced by both information from individual and group experiences in the workplace and in life and by nursing research (Watson, 2019). APNs can aid in creating, shaping, and implementing healthcare polices.Policies are what informs the advanced practice nurse on how they can practice per the states scope of practice. These healthcare policies help in creating safety for patients and the healthcare provider, like the APN.Healthcare policies are placed for the APNs to use evidence- based research and practice in providing exceptional person-centered care. Advocacy is a crucial component in the advance practice nurse's role. To strengthen and advance patient care and outcomes, health systems, and public policy, nursing as a profession has a long history of advocacy work (Chiu et al., 2021). The APN should advocate for positive changes for healthcare for the patient and themselves. Regarding policies in the state's the APN should advocate for better practice authority. Focus should always be on the patient and giving them the safest and best care possible despite any disparities. Focusing on values, transformational leaders emphasize developing relationships with people and bringing about change (Giddens, 2017). The "four Is" are transformational leadership's four components and those include idealized influence, inspiration motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration (Collins et al., 2020). Idealized influence can affect influencing policy change is a positive way. It can help the followers or other employees grow and imitate good productivity and skills by showing respect for the APN (leader). Inspiration motivation also allows for others and the APN to have the same vision- for example, patient safety. This APN can use inspiration motivation to motivate others regarding better person- centered care policies.A leader using intellectual stimulation can aid in changing policies by listening to what their peers have to say and allowing them to critically think and use their creativity by influencing policy change. The last of the four Is includes individualized consideration. This includes the leader influencing the peers to achieve higher things and push them in the right direction towards higher goals. Having a good transformational leader can lead to an increase in positive policy changes. Best Regards
