With the concurrent widespread of new technology and social networking, cyberbullying and cyber harassment have highly been reported especially to youth. According to the technology, cyberbullying can be defined as hostile communications and interactions that occur concessionary via electronic media. The scientist argues that cyberbullying causes temporal aggression in communications since most people intents to penetrate other’s information even without authority (Dredge, Rebecca, Gleeson & Xochitl 2014). Basing the current trends in technology, most authors have raised different aspects and arguments concerning cyberbullying threats. In the late research, cyberbullying and cyber harassment were the most significant threat touching the technology sector. Several scholars argue that cyberbullying actions have been promoted by using social media such as Facebook and Instagram. Our primary focus is to have a compressive argumentative discussion on how Facebook and Instagram contribute to temporal cyberbullying. Additionally, the report shall discuss how we can solve cyberbullying problems since it has been a significant threat, especially in information technology.
With the invention of the Instagram app around 2010, cyberbullying problems have affected more than 46% of younger people, especially in the United States of America. According to the National Crime Prevention Council’s arguments in 2011, half of the younger generation in America has been affected by cyberbullying and cyber harassment. Basing technology experts’ opinions, the number of affected teens increased immediately after the invention of Instagram and Facebook as communications social media (Tahmasebi et al., 2018). Even though cyberbullying does not promote physical damage, it is believed to have devastating physiological problems for younger people. In response to this, current statistics show that Facebook and Instagram are the most influencing cyberbullying and cyber harassment aspects. However, I am sure most people have no idea how these two paramount apps can contribute to cyberbullying. Following the technology, the younger generation has adopted smartphones and laptops, connecting with different social media.
A high percentage of younger people prefer using Facebook as the leading social networking with other colleges; however, on Facebook, there are different people with different intentions. Instagram involves data, images, and comments designed to fetch other people’s information if there is a vulnerability of the data (Dredge, Rebecca, Gleeson & Xochitl 2014). Most people have developed an unstoppable habit of posting their friends as image captions, thus adding some weird information: “Who thinks he or she is ugly. ” Such information causes depression to some people, thus promoting suicide or hatred between people. According to several experts’ arguments, this is a severe problem, especially for children who engage in social media.
With the current technology, most younger people spent extended time on the internet and social media platforms, e.g., Facebook and Instagram. With this, it’s good to understand that Instagram and Facebook are the most committed, social media irradiating the biggest cyberbullying problem.
