The state of Maryland has taken deliberate measures to expand access to healthcare by the general population. Numerous programs have been implemented by the state to make it easy for most vulnerable populations to access care (Seewaldt, 2021). The professional nursing leadership that has emerged are the ones dealing with advocating for better healthcare laws and policies that benefit all the residents of Maryland state without bias on how people can access quality healthcare. Professional nursing leadership ensures that resources are availed to the healthcare industry so that it can be able to procure current technologies that promote the provision of care (Emanuel, 2017). Nursing leadership uses their delegation of duties to know what needs to be adopted in the industry and what needs to be phased away to improve the provision of care to the general population (Sultz, & Young, 2018). It is therefore critical for nursing leadership to assess the emerging technologies that bring a revolution in how healthcare is delivered so that patient safety is improved.
