D092: Using Technology In The Classroom A. Case # 680 Applying Listening And Speaking Skills While Presenting A Digital Scrapbook About The Early Settlers. A1. Describe the technology and how it is integrated in the instructional process a. Identify the level of technology integration according to the SAMR model, and provide a rationale for your selection.

In this video a smartboard is used to integrate instruction allowing for the students to present

their digital scrapbooks. Within this classroom the educator explains to the second grade students

on how to be a good listener. When giving instruction, the educator is using the smartboard to

present to all students. The students are then able to use the smartboard to present their projects

with their groups. The level of technology integration would be substitution according to the

SAMR model. While working on the presentation, the students are using computers to come up

with designs rather than drawing and using a poster.

A2. Explain how the technology integration affected the teaching and learning process.

Using a smartboard allows for the students to respond in alternative ways and can ultimately

replace poster boards and white boards as a form to present information. Using the smartboard is

an easier way for teachers to give instruction to the students and transition to the students'

presentations
