Compare your current preferred learning strategies to the identified strategies for your preferred learning style. Examine how awareness of learning styles has influenced your perceptions of teaching and learning. In a paper (750-1,000 words), summarize your analysis of this exercise and discuss the overall value of learning styles. Include the following: Provide a summary of your learning style according the VARK questionnaire. Describe your preferred learning strategies. Compare your current preferred learning strategies to the identified strategies for your preferred learning style.

Summary of my Learning Style According to the VARK Questionnaire
According to the VARK Questionnaire, my learning style is read/write modality because it had the highest score of 15. Visual modality scored 3 whereas Aural and Kinesthetic modalities scored 8 each. Reading and writing learners like learning by reading books and making notes. They rely heavily on written materials like articles, handouts, novels, power point presentations and dictionaries (Klement, 2014). They spend most of their time in library reading and making notes. They are also active in conducting research through the internet bearing in mind that the internet provides them any information, most of which are packed with text (Othman & Amiruddin, 2010). Career-wise, read/write learners excel in the academic world as teachers, authors and professors. As a read/write learner, I learn and remember information by writing it down.
Preferred Learning Strategies
As a read/write learner, my preferred learning strategy is using a pen or a highlighter to mark the min points and ideas. Similar to my learning styles, I prefer learning by reading and making notes. After contentious reading, I always write ideas on a paper in my own language to absorb them. The act of writing notes helps me absorb ideas and facts. I always believe in the old adage, ‘‘a faint pen is better than memory’’ meaning that it is better to take some notes than relying on memory alone. This strategy has helped me memorize and grasp a lot of information. My other preferred learning strategy is combining my study session with exercise. This strategy develops my interest in learning and helps me understand the concepts properly. My current preferred learning strategies are similar to the identified strategies for my preferred learning style in that they both involve reading texts and summarizing them for better understanding.
Impact of Individual Learning Styles on Education
Each learning style affects the degree to which a learner can understand or perform educational activities. The visual learning style enables learners to use images, maps, and graphic organizers to access and understand new information (Othman & Amiruddin, 2010). They can explain concepts to others through graphical representation. Aural students learn by listening. They pay attention to the words spoken by teachers. This learning style helps students understand new information by listening and speaking in lectures and group discussions. Reading and writing improve learners’ ability to remember concepts previously learned in class (Tabatabei, 2018). It is because the students read repetitively and take notes.
According to Klement (2014), students with strong reading and writing preferences learn best through words. This style also enables students to translate abstract concepts into words, improving their chances of understanding concepts. The kinematic learning style allows learning by understanding information through tactical representations of data. I also enable students to figure things ..
