Models of Addiction, Treatment, and Case Management

Introduction

Several models of case management can be differentiated from working with people who have substance use disorders. These models are useful for the development of a plan for helping the persons affected. This is as well fundamental in that there will be an assurance of the best quality of care for the patients. The models are instrumental in that it allows for the creation of the core functioning on the process of assessment of the patients as well as the planning of care. The models as intimated by Parker (2018) are as well instrumental in the process of monitoring and advocating for patient care services. This paper focuses on the examination of the case management models and the strengths and limitations of the different models that are to be used. 

Chosen model of addiction and the rationale for selection

One of the models of case management is the brokerage model. This is a brief approach to case management whereby the caseworkers focus on helping the clients in the identification of their needs. As such, the workers will broker an ancillary of supportive services in their contacts. The planning process is limited and there is a lack of a progressive close manager and client relationship.

The main idea about this model is the third parties who are called brokers and help in bringing the settlers as well as the buyers of the products or services together for them to engage in the necessary transactions. The broker is focused on the connection of the participants. This is fundamental in that there will be an avoidance of any risks of having unreliable interactions. The intermediary services are therefore expected to be provided by the broker that is supposed to be taken into account for the determination of the quality as it ensures that there is an enhancement of the entities of action of change….
