Several organizations have been able to work better with local communities worldwide to help improve quality of life and promote the health and safety of the community members in times of disasters. Through these organizations, nurses have been able to string pillars and advocate for the community’s affected people. As a result, nurses must be mindful of how such non-governmental organizations operate to improve local lives. Additionally, nurses the nurse working with such organizations must also be aware of other factors that directly or indirectly impact the services it offers and how they influence the lives of the community members (Lane, 2018). By being familiar with these organizations, nurses can provide help through volunteering or any other working form. In this paper, the selected organization is UNICEF. Therefore, this paper aims at discussing how UNICEF impacts the local community, how its vision and mission improve public health and safety, and how it promotes equality to improve the health of the local people.
How an Organization’s Work Impacts the Health and/or Safety Needs Of A Local Community
The roles being played by UNICEF are significant, and they revolve around essential issues to do with the health and safety needs of the local community. For instance, UNICEF has helped in several activities revolving around children’s social services and health. Besides, the organization has had a positive impact on both women’s and children’s lives by improving their health and safety needs. The provisions of health services by UNICEF have significantly helped reduce mortality rates due to improved health care service delivery (Lane, 2018).
UNICEF has made significant steps in donating approximately two million dollars to various local communities worldwide, thus improving and strengthening both children’s and women’s health systems in the community. Therefore, most people have been helped both socially and economically to improve their lives. Through UNICEF programs, most people have received social protection, including children. There has been a remarkable improvement in healthcare service delivery among the welfare of both children and women. Therefore, with UNICEF’s help, it has been possible to promote excellently promote the health care service delivery t both women and children in the local communities.
