3. How does an emphasis on social exclusion differ from one of stigmatization? (100 words)

Social exclusion involves the discrimination of an individual with mental health diseases, where, one is treated badly or harshly due to the fact they are viewed as different and suffer (Rogers & Pilgrim, 2014). Stigmatization of mentally ill individual involves alienating the and seeing them as different due to the medical conditions they might be going through.
Social exclusion focuses on the isolation of personas with a mental illness and how it impacts on their treatment and recovery process. It differs from stigmatization in that stigma can only be addressed from a medical point of view where information on how normal or abnormal one is gets passed, while, exclusion is addressed from a social point of view where people within the patient’ environment are encouraged to adopt a positive vali language.
