Choosing between the NCLEX-PN and the NCLEX-RN

What are the real distinctions between the NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN exams? There are more similarities than variances in the overall format. Though the amount of questions and time restriction on the tests change slightly, the most of the variance is concentrated on the topic of those questions. Though both LPNs and RNs provide patient care, RNs have a broader area of practice, and the NCLEX-RN questions reflect this. Because registered nurses can supervise LPNs, the NCLEX-RN includes more questions about management, whereas the NCLEX-PN focuses on coordinating care across health professionals. RNs can also handle total parenteral nutrition and the administration of blood and blood products to patients, hence the NCLEX-RN includes questions on both topics. Despite the fact that the examinations cover different topics, they both give a thorough evaluation of a nurse's key competencies for practicing at their credential level.
