Capstone Projects for Nursing Programs

Capstone courses serve as a link between the completion of school and the start of a profession, allowing nursing students to apply what they've learned. Capstones, as the name implies, are completed by students near the end of their nursing education. A capstone is not required in every nursing program, but those that do usually result in a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) or doctor of nursing practice (DNP) degree. Capstone objectives focus on the application of knowledge learned during nursing training programs, such as issues such as leadership, management, research, theories, and evidence-based practice, as well as the techniques required to transition from students to baccalaureate-level nurses.
