Answer 3 for NRS 434 Describe various risk factors or precursors to adolescent pregnancy

This is an extremely insightful and interesting post on adolescent pregnancy. I agree with you in all aspects of the post except the assertion that adolescent pregnancy is increasing. Based on the report by the CDC, the teen birth rate in the United States has been steadily reducing since the year 1991. For instance, in the year 2019, teen birth rate was 16.4% per 1,000 teenage girls, which is a reduction from 17.4% per 1,000 teenage girls in 2018 (CDC, 2021). The CDC report also reports 7% reduction in birth rates for girls aged between 15-17 years and 4% reduction for female aged between 18 and 19 years (CDC, 2021). Although there is no exact reason for the decline in teen pregnancy, the decline can be linked to increased utilization of birth control methods and sexual abstinence (CDC, 2021). This trend of reduction in teen pregnancy is promising. Therefore, there is need to implement programs such as counseling and support programs to ensure that the trend is maintained (Paton et al., 2020).
