I agree with you that quality improvement is a structured protocol aimed at improve the state of healthcare services. Therefore, quality improvement identifies areas of weaknesses that require attention. QI initiative in any institution examine healthcare services before strategies are incorporated to improve the services (Maphumulo & Bhengu, 2019). Interviewing patients and healthcare providers will generate reliable first-hand information that guides the implementation of QI programs. Organizations have different criteria to obtain information about organizational and individual performance (Mannion & Davies, 2018). Therefore, facilities use the most suitable approach to obtain information to be used in QI initiatives. For instance, the data generated from hospital acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs) assist hospitals to obtain details that will facilitates successful implementation of QI programs (Niñerola et al., 2020). Frequently, QI programs are expected to improve the current performance. Hence, institutions ensure that the right strategies are taken in every step of the program.
