Since electronic health records (EHRs) contain sensitive personal information, it’s important that they be protected by strong passwords (Haddad & Geiger, 2021). A good password should be at least 8 characters long, and should include a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters. It is also important to change your passwords regularly, and never use the same password for more than one account. And finally, never share your passwords with anyone else (O’Reilly-Shah et al., 2020). There are a number of factors to consider when it comes to privacy, security, and confidentiality in nursing. First and foremost, patient data and information must be kept confidential at all times (Hall et al., 2017). This means ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to this information, and that it is properly secure from unauthorized access or disclosure.
